The game was developed by Vietnamese programmer Dong Nguyen and published in May 2013.
The game is a side-scrolling mobile game featuring 2D graphics. The player controls a bird, attempting to fly between rows of green pipes without hitting them. The original version of the game was released on iOS with support for the iPhone and iPad and can be downloaded from the App Store for free.
The objective is to tap the screen to keep the bird in flight. The bird will continue to fly upward until it hits a pipe or the top of the screen is reached, at which point it falls down, losing a life. If no pipes are hit, each consecutive pipe yields greater points than the previous ones (for example if all pipes up to row 10 are hit).

Flappy Bird was an addictive game that was removed from the app stores by the creator.
The game is a 2D side-scrolling mobile game where the player controls a bird, attempting to fly between columns of green pipes without hitting them. The aim is to get as far as possible without crashing.
The objective of Flappy Bird is to keep the bird in flight by tapping on its screen with one finger, which makes it fly upwards for a short period of time. If the player taps on the screen again or let’s go, gravity will take over and cause it to fall until another tap causes it to rise again.
